| Stunning colour 8x12 photograph signed by 1953 Everest expedition member George Band, who was the youngest member of the expedition. Signed during our private signing held 08th August 2006! Each photograph sold benefits the Himalayan Trust.
In 1955 he also made the first ascent of Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak. He then worked in oil and gas exploration for the rest of his professional life, but has also been president of the Alpine Club and British Mountaineering Council.
George Band had to take a year out from studying at Cambridge University to go on the 1953 expedition. But he had built up some impressive mountaineering credentials in his student years and at 24 years of age became the youngest member of John Hunt's team.
